Project 6

Image
This my magazine project, wasn't really one of my favorites, I got lazy on my article pages which are  the last two images, at the time i may have thought the background image sufficed but looking at them now they feel empty/incomplete, i was thinking of maybe just getting rid of the 3rd page and adding that header text to the 4th page (to be 3rd)

These are kind of all over the place, I was just trying to get ideas out so, any and all suggestions are welcome.

This is a set of surreal illustrations called "Consuming Daydreams." I created this as a personal illustration, as well as challenging myself with illustrator.    I will work on the cup ramen, and have less strands of noodle.

Edited all them, and added a few stars along with some minor changes to text format and sizes.

I was inspired off of "The Dark Tower" movie posters and made this real quick. But clearly it isn't as dramatic, i was thinking of putting in a new backwards facing image of me, and adding more contrast between the sky and the city.

Any suggestions on making it better? Just realized the tip of hair isn't included in the clipping mask..

Looking for some criticism, should I edit the lighting or colors?

I've already edited this quite a bit before posting it, but I'm not entirely sure what to continue changing other than the body text.  Suggestions?

In this poster, it was suggested that I change the type used for the quote to make it more expressive. I gave it a few different fonts that are all part of the same family, but I'm torn between if I prefer more expressive nature of this version of the more regal nature of the previous. What do you all think?

This campaign had a couple of adjustments made to each of the three magazine ad designs. On the green one, I adjusted the size and positioning of elements to remove some of the empty white space. On the blue one, I toned down the color of the figure so that the text didn't blend in as much. The red one was changed too to match this so I didn't look too vibrant next to the other ads. New images are placed first, then originals for comparison.

In this project, I changed the type of the third mockup to make it so 1951 doesn't blend in with the image as much by removing the yellow. On the website itself (not pictured), I adjusted an error where the header images would float left when the screen size was too large. I toyed with the idea of incorporating script fonts in the header but I found that they made the bakery feel too old-fashioned mom-and-pop-ish instead of the suave, modern shop that it now is.

For this project, I adjusted the blue boxes on the contents page to make them feel more grounded in the composition. While I want the magazine to have a sort of collage-esque, loose feel to it, I think changing these has helped to hold it together better. I opted not to have them as full bands going across the page because it created too much division, but having them going across partially was already used in the spread so it still is united. I played around with using a script font or a font reminiscent of Devanagari alphabet for the title of the article but ended up choosing to remain with the one in place because I felt it suited the space best.
