Project 2 Rework- Daniel Hurst

Fixed the spelling

Project 9 Rework - Jon Lerew

I fixed some wonky animation on the cloud at the beginning and changed the asset for the clouds so that it is more fluffy.

I made several changes to this piece. On the first panel, I changed the blending on the cannon so that it fits better on the page (originally it was completely opaque). I also adjusted the opacity of the gun so that it better matches its mate. On the third panel I added the text "The Gettysburg Address" to create unity with the text seen on the other two panels. I also brought in some red in the lower portion of it to unite it with the first panel. Finally, I added spaces are the en dashes since they were absent previously. New Original

Since the last version I've changed the alignment of headers as well as reworded parts of the text and fixed some typos.

For the final version of this piece, I adjusted the size relationship of the text in the headline so the difference wasn't as extreme. I also changed the answer button to a sliding button to more clear show that it's a phone call and I edited the text wrap of the body copy. I chose to leave the colors as they are because the duller green of the logo didn't suit the headline as well.

I took Coni's suggestion and changed the text to make it more readable. I increased the point size as well as reduced the width of the text box to aid with the legibility. Before After

Thomas Bozek- Boston Homelessness

Image
I started this off by finding a stock image of an alley in Boston that really caught my eye. My next thing was to add a subject when I came across this man who looks like he's seen some serious stuff. I added him in to the background and made the final image into black and white to make it more dramatic.

Gina - Project 4 Updated - Magazine

Image
Introspect Magazine - Update Gina Khouth An updated version of my magazine. On the cover, I added a drop shadow to the subtitle to make it more visible to read and I made the barcode smaller.  On the contents page, I filled the space on the bottom  right with social media icons so it's not empty. On the spread, I added the same social media icons, and I made the footer bar shorter.

Before  After I was told that the text getting in the way of the imagery which may have caused confusion/chaos, so I moved things around to accommodate, and i think it worked out, but I am still open to suggestions to improve it.

Project 7

Image
This is a self project I made. First of all maybe I made the scene too dark, and the soldiers could blend in a little more i was also thinking of adding a few flares in the empty windows (indicating there are snipers targeting the soldiers, may not be necessary) As for the text i wasn't sure which font would be the best choice, I also thought where i positioned it was a good place and I warped it slightly. I made the smoke in background and I'm not sure if it's a good fit, i like the one i made that's on the left, but the one on right may throw it off a bit.

This was a one color shirt design originally made to be printed on silk screen.

Project 7

Project 7 Project 7 was a magazine cover that was designed for a themed travel magazine. My magazine was designed to be a haunted themed magazine to advertise different multiple haunted attractions around the world. The cover is from the Catacombs of Rome and I decided to make the skull black and white compared to the others because I thought it would make it seem more ghostly and would catch the reader's eye.

Project 6

Project 6 This Project was a PSA Poster about depression. The figure in the poster used to be all white and I had received feedback to have the floating objects look more like they were coming off of him. I colored in most of him but decided to keep his face white to connect with the white text of the word Depression.

The main change I made here was fixing some typesetting errors such as awkward line breaks.

Project 6 Rework - Jon Lerew

Image
For this one the main change was typography. My original version used Arial and Myriad Pro for its fonts, so for this version, I changed it to fonts from the Brandon Grotesque family (except for on the phone itself because I wanted it to be similar to the real font used on iPhones). I also added a slight sheen to the screen.

Project 5 Final (but suggestion wanted) - Jonathan Lerew

Image
So I stuck with the original more formal variant for the text, but edited it slightly and changed the quotations to make it more eye-catching. I also adjusted the box behind the body text to make it more opaque and added a drop cap to break things up a little bit. I'm not sure if I like the lime variant or the lilac variant better, which one do you guys like?

I took Coni's advice and moved the green flower over the yellow text for this version. It's a small change but I agree with her that it helps draw the eye to the beginning of the article so that it doesn't get lost.

Request for Feedback on Project 3 - Jon Lerew

Image
So my web project Maximilien's mainly got feedback on the mockup portion. I did what I could with that but unfortunately I no longer have the photoshop files so no drastic changes can be made to them without remaking them completely. However, I still have all the files for the website itself so if anyone has any suggestions for that I would be happy to play with them. (I know implementing a script typeface was suggested so I will play more with that too).
