Project 6

This my magazine project, wasn't really one of my favorites, I got lazy on my article pages which are  the last two images, at the time i may have thought the background image sufficed but looking at them now they feel empty/incomplete, i was thinking of maybe just getting rid of the 3rd page and adding that header text to the 4th page (to be 3rd)

  1. I like the general aesthetic you've created with this, it has a hi-tech vibe going on. I agree that the article pages need some work. Moving the text over may make sense, but I would consider adding a shorter headline to the first page of the article instead and turning "Can video games actually help treat depression" into a lead-in for the article. Maybe add some more paragraphs to the article to fill out the pages and split it into a multi-column design.

  2. I think this could be a strong project for your book. The first suggestion I have is to lighten up the orange accent color - it is too close in value to the mid-value blue background. Dull colors are not the antidote to depression - allow a bright color to liven this up.

Contents - please design some page #s to sit with the articles. What exactly is the title of the first article? The article itself seems to suggest a much longer title. Write more for the first article blurb here in such a way as to peak our interest.

I am wondering if you actually found an article for this... or did you just make up the idea of the article? It seems strange to have so little text.

Article spread - yes, you need more type for this to be viewed as an editorial article, and to show that you can handle paragraphs of type in your design skills. Do not delete any pages, add more content to them instead. OR - find an article that you can use, and import that content to replace what little is here.
