Final of 1st project- Daniel Hurst

This was the original    This is the rework

Project 1 - Gina Khouth

Here's how it originally looked:  Here's an updated version: I've mainly changed the colors as suggested, in order to give the overall illustration unity. I chose to go with a red color palette to match with the warmth of Jackie's skin tone color, as well as red symbolizes the color of heroism. I tried to do something with the body font, it didn't really changed much, just a change in font and position.

Project number 3 is the mockups and final website of Maximilien's Patisserie. The mockups go into three distinct ideas, while the final website ends up being based on the second one. I compiled screenshots to show the entire website because it's not live.

My second project to be updated is my cover, contents, and spread from the magazine Traverse.

3 Portfolio Examples

https://www.krawec.org / This website has a fun and lively design to it that accurately matches the photos that are the main focus of the Portfolio https://www.alexcoven.com / This website is evenly spread out and with an easy to navigate pull out guide on the side and an even split between an image and text on the focus page http://cihadturhan.com / A well organized portfolio with an easy to navigate bar and when immediately clicking/scrolling down you'll see an impressive split page with content on one side and the code for the content on the other

My first project is the menu project from Publication Design. I took the suggestions made to remove the indentation on the about section and move the vegetarian symbols inside the border of the pasta section. On the drink menu, I removed the hyphenation at the end of lines as well as changing the shade of green to clash less with the text.

3 portfolio examples

Three awesome portfolio site examples: http://www.adambbrooks.com/ Adam Brooks' website not only showcase his designs, but also talks about himself and what he does. He has a lot of phone mock-ups which is great to show that his designs are functional and interactive. https://dapooni.com/ Simple yet effective. This portfolio site feels as if you should only focus on the portfolio pieces, which consist of high quality projects and motions that are colorful enough to contrast and pop against the black minimalist theme. https://www.codyreppert.com/ The site is an organized grid of blocky solid colors that introduces his different portfolio pieces in a simple yet artistic way and really straight to the point.

3 Portfolios

Chris Labrooy Chris Labrooy has really engaging works of art. He's worked with companys such as Nike, Jaguar, and many more. Florian Schommer Florian uses vectors for the most part in his artwork and its crazy how much detail he puts into it. Once you see his work you'll be extremely impressed. Joshua M. Smith Joshua does a lot of work with Typography but also does his own illustrations. His work is really cool to look through and looks extremely clean and professional.

Portfolio Websites

Here are my choices for three great portfolio websites. http://www.andyhau.com/ This website is a simplistic design and well organized throughout the page. The white space compliments the many colors used in the images which are structured very satisfyingly. http://paprika.com/ This website draws the viewer in with an eye catching animation that is randomly generated each time the page is refreshed. The page scrolls down into a gallery with a variety of selections. https://apparatusstudio.com/ This website opens with a parallax hero image and scrolls down into it's content which has minimal white space and organized content. A simple, yet effective design.

3 Portfolio sites

https://www.portfoliobox.net/examples I chose this site because really neat and is organized nicely with creative portfolios. https://www.smugmug.com/ I also thought this site had a nice layout, and the essentials. https://www.behance.net/ Being designers for a while now i think we're all familiar with this site, which is a perfect place to make and discover creative portfolios.
