Project 6

This Project was a PSA Poster about depression. The figure in the poster used to be all white and I had received feedback to have the floating objects look more like they were coming off of him. I colored in most of him but decided to keep his face white to connect with the white text of the word Depression.

  1. Question - do you want us to read the headline Depression Shatters? I think you do - and so you may need to create less contrast between those words, so we continue to read them together.

The block of text in lower right seems to be related, no? Same issue as headline - maybe too much contrast between those blocks of text. Can we even read the blue text against the black? Consider aligning them in a similar way, sharing fonts and colors?

The color break with white on the figure seems to suggest he is simply wearing a hood. how can you seemingly deconstruct his shape so we don't come to any erroneous conclusions.

Colors - because of the super bright colors here, I'm not sure the color palette helps us understand the message. Have you considered toning them down, dulling them just a bit?

    1. The "blocks" of text in lower right.... plural!

  2. I like the concept behind this, I think it could be very interesting. I agree with what Coni said about the typography, it needs some adjustments. I also feel like the way the figure is cut off in the bottom left is a little bit jarring.

  3. Other than what was mentioned about the text, I like that you went with making the persons pieces colorful, I think more of the cracks could be wider (the ones at the top of the head are great) I also agree with Jon on the figure cut off.

  4. The character being cut off could be improved by pulling it forward a bit.

  5. I like your concept. Instead of having "shatters" falling down what if you had the pieces of the figure shattering more and falling off. The reds and oranges give an angry mood, changing the colors to a cooler pallete for a more somber and sad depressive feeling could improve the message.
