Nashoba Valley Corale Drafts-Feedback Needed

My apologies for uploading this so late, but here are my three drafts so for the new Nashoba Valley Chorale Logo.

I decided to go with a female conductor silhouette because the Chorale's conductor is also a female. The font I used for the first draft is Baskerville Old Face, The font I used for the second draft is Bookman Old Style. Finally, the font I used for the third draft is Footlight MT Light.

  1. Interesting idea to just use the silhouette of the conductor. I think the second one has the best font and the best "lively conductor" vibe, but the edge seems a little ragged.

  2. Good beginning, and I'm glad you are giving them 3 choices. (top 2 are strongest, unless you can redraw the bottom one with more distinct fingers).

I think that your silhouettes need to be more smooth. The correct way to create them would be to use vector lines to draw them (not raster pixels). Please redraw them in Illustrator (place the image you used initially, and gray it so you can carefully trace it). Remember - photos lie! You may need to use your drawing talents to correct things like fingers and faces.

Also - since the conductor is always conducting with an audience, I wonder if you want to add a bottom shape (even just a horizontal rule) to the bottom of each of these shapes? It allows us to think they may be in an environment of a concert hall (in front of an audience).
