Project 3 - Jon Lerew

Project number 3 is the mockups and final website of Maximilien's Patisserie. The mockups go into three distinct ideas, while the final website ends up being based on the second one. I compiled screenshots to show the entire website because it's not live.

  1. I'm curious about what website builder you are using? Are these the 3 templates you have chosen to consider to be used? I guess I need to understand what is YOUR design and what is the templates design? A quick suggestion for the Peppercorn template is that the date "1951" seems to be hidden rather than emphasized. Consider another color? Or maybe you don't actually need a contrast for the date?

    1. Hi, Coni! These were actually built from scratch in Photoshop from my brain, no templates used. The website itself was just hand-coded HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I see what you mean about the date not being as noticeable on Peppercorn. I'll look into changing it so that it stands out better!

    2. So - then maybe it makes sense to show all three in your portfolio - so we see depth in your website design skills. Challenge will be to find a way to do this in the best, non-confusing way (is that a word?). They each have a set of design strengths, nice work.

    3. Sorry I think there might be some confusion. Only the second design has an actual website, the rest are all just shapes and type in Photoshop (though I might be able to create them, my web skills are a little rusty right now however)

  2. I really like design 2, i believe browns are associated with baking, sweets, etc. which you caught on to, i think. And the images with text overlay are great idea.

  3. These mockups and final website came out great Jon. The warm colors are great and appetizing. Fits well with the type of business. Your design is very clean and crisp, the only suggestion I have is maybe integrating the script font used in the heading somewhere again on the page. The subheadings or even the middle bar with the date on the home page a script font.

  4. These mock ups were very well done and the final is fantastic. The tans and browns give a calm almost homely feeling with the baked goods.
