Mount Wachusett Community College, in Gardner MA offers a 2-year program for Graphic and Interactive Designer students. This final course in the GID program helps students assemble and present their best work produced in the program. This blog is produced by the GID Portfolio class under the direction of instructor Coni Porter.
The sound and background of mountains and wide open spaces makes sense and we orient ourselves quickly as to what we can expect to happen. Is there a way to more clearly suggest the train is coming directly at us? More time spent with this scene, elongating the arrival of the train (should the light appear small and get larger as train approaches?) might be a good idea. The, there is a quick perspective change, from looking directly into the tunnel to a new scene. Having the tunnel seemingly disappear might be too quick... my eyes continued to see the tunnel for awhile. Was that your intention? Is there another way to more gradually transition from one scene to the other? Wouldn't the mountain range in the distance change? We need something to reinforce the big shift or confusion sets in. Can the wheels appear to rotate? This is a good beginning.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Coni said. Also, the coupling rods going across the wheels shouldn't just move back and forth but rather in an ellipse as the wheels rotate.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with what Coni said.
