Project 2

  1. I like the way the whole image is framed within a representation of an old Mac computer. I also like how you incorporated the classic rainbow Apple logo. Both of these features help to tell the history of Twombly without outright saying it. I think the interior border of the screen, especially around the portrait, needs to be cleaned up a little. Also perhaps a little more padding between the border and the text would free things up.

  2. I perhaps would make the grey border smaller and give more white space for the texts and elements to have more padding in between each other if you just move them away from each other a a little. I really like the concept and composition overall.

  3. I like the grey outline and how it looks like a monitor. The colors that make up the Macintosh logo are very eye catching and unique. I think the two fonts you chose due to how they look when grouped with one another.

  4. Have you looked at the corners of the new screens lately? The outer edge is rounded while the window itself has sharp corners. I wonder if you want to update that for this poster... so it looks more current? Even adding the apple at the bottom (rather than Macintosh) might be a way to allow you to market this font to designers in today's world. Be careful of the type crashing into the edges of the screen... looks like you need to establish a margin there. Lastly - I also wonder if the portrait seems a bit small in the lower right corner? Have you thought about enlarging her so that her head overlaps the central focal point (apple) a bit? This would add depth and give that element a more prominent place in the composition. Should her portrait be color? Should color be added to the subheadings?
