Project 1

  1. You're first concept with the fire is extremely well executed. Everything just feels right. The contrast between the portal and the flames, the way the medics are masked in to the scene, all of it. Great job. The other two still need a little work though. I think part of it is a scaling issue for the second one, the figures seem a little too small for the environment. But for both of them I think a big factor is lighting. Play with some different blending modes and colors and such and see if you can give them a similar lighting to the rest of their environment. Also, shadows really help to ground things. It looks like you used a drop shadow beneath the stretcher in the third one, but I would argue that that's ineffective because of the way the sun is coming down it wouldn't create such a sharp outline from that angle. Maybe try even just going in with a brush on a new layer and painting some shadows yourself and blending them?

  2. The concept is unique, I would suggest having a cleaner cutout of the people on the third poster. Also maybe change the font because it sort of reminds of video games style.

  3. The designs are very well done, it's impressive how when someone is in the portal they are brightened up due to the assumed lights in the hospital. Some of the people still have a little white around their forms but that's about all I can see wrong with it.

  4. As you refine the foreground in #2 and #3, I would encourage you to take some time to consider how visible your headline (logo) MedPort is against the background. You have chosen red - which makes sense for your product. Red, however, is a very dense color - closer to black than you might think. Notice on #1, how the right side of MedPort is very readable, and because of that we DO find the left side of it. So... it is readable. What can you do to the backgrounds of the other two to create more contrast behind this important element - so we see it more clearly? This is important. Can you add flames to the background, as we see in #1? Or...

...can you increase the amount of white around those letters - significantly - to help them be more readable. In the end - that might be the most simple adjustment to make.
