Project 9 - Typography Poster - Nicole Wetherby
This is a project I did in Typography class showing the use of the different fonts paired together. Poster with two Jacks from a deck of cards.

I really like this piece. It feels really well balanced and the type portraits were well designed. One thing that feels a little off is that the text box for Italian Oldstyle doesn't sit on the same baseline as Casablanca. I think if you moved this down to line up it would look more unified and also give some more space between the playing card and the Italian Oldstyle text, which feels a little crowded at the moment. I'm not sure you need the ellipsis in the headline either, but maybe play with the sizing of the words to make the more important ones looks, well, more important. Aside from those minor things this is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteRethinking the lower part of the typography is all that is needed in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThe typographic images are awesome, if anything i think there could be a little more space between your font choices and the text underneath them.
ReplyDeleteThe images in type are very impressive and detailed.
